Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LOCUS whiteboard and organisation application (the "App") and the website at locusboard.uk (the "Site"), together the "Service", operated by LOCUS ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
LOCUS provides a digital whiteboard and organisation tool that allows you to create, arrange, and connect visual content ("Boards"). The App optionally allows you to authenticate with your Google account and sync your Boards to your own Google Drive storage.
2. Accounts and Authentication
You may sign in using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs through your authenticated sessions. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate any other person.
3. Your Content
You retain all ownership of the Boards and content you create with LOCUS. Your content is stored on your device and, if you enable sync, in your own Google Drive account. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content, and we do not access, host, or store it on our servers.
You are solely responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the right to create and store it. You agree not to use the Service to create or store content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- misuse the Service or interfere with its normal operation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems, accounts, or data;
- reverse engineer the App except where permitted by law;
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation, or of Google's terms where you use Google Sign-In or Google Drive sync.
5. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with Google Sign-In and Google Drive. Your use of those services is subject to Google's own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services. Sync functionality depends on your Google account remaining active and on you maintaining the necessary permissions.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including the LOCUS name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding or software except as necessary to use the Service as intended.
7. Availability and Changes
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. As your content is stored on your device and in your own Google Drive, changes to the Service do not give us any control over your content.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any data sync will always succeed. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or relating to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. Because authentication is handled by Google and your data is stored on your device and your Google Drive, you can end your relationship with the Service by deleting the App and revoking LOCUS's access in your Google account permissions. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for breach of these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
